Pet stores that sell animals generally seem very sad to me. (Visions of puppy Mills, etc.) However, Petland is on the opposite end of the spectrum from those grim stores. The workers care deeply about the animals and want you to know about the breeds, and even the personal story of the animals. A clerk let me hold a parrot while she told me its story and its personality. My husband held a snake while that clerk answered his many questions. In the meantime, I found Fromm dogfood, which I hadn’t found in PetCo or PetSmart. He helped me compare the pros and cons of the regular adult and large breed foods.
