This super cute and adorable pooch is an offspring of the Bichon Frise and the irresistible Yorkshire Terrier.
However, this dog is not all about its good looks alone; it is friendly, fun and loving. Discover more about our Yorkie Chon puppies for sale below!
Yorkie-Chon is a crossbreed from the United States and was supposedly first developed about 20 years ago. It came about as a result of a 50-50 percent mix of the Bichon Frise and Yorkshire Terrier, it is the most varying type of designer dog being a first-generation hybrid. The Yorkie-Chon has existed from the past few decades but only gained popularity about ten years ago.
Although it is quite difficult to clearly state the temperament of the Yorkie-Chon being a crossbreed and inheriting traits from both parents, its temperament can be predicted depending on its dominant traits. It possesses a mild temperament and independent by nature, it is also a very aggressive barker. Yorkie-Chon loves to be in the midst of humans and is an attention seeker. On the other hand, it can also be stubborn and destructive.
Yorkie-Chon is suitable for apartment living and families with children can consider adopting this dog. Some bark a lot and this should be considered when going for a Yorkie-Chon but asides this, it adapts well to any living environment with moderate weather conditions depending on its coat, either silky like the Yorkie or curly and dense like the Bichon.
Yorkie-Chon is a really active dog by nature and does not require strenuous exercise because it burns a lot of calories on its own by staying active. It should be allowed to play around freely indoors. Just a medium amount of exercise routine daily is all it requires.
As beautiful as berners are, it comes at a high price. They are huge shedders and will shed all year long, especially during the spring and fall seasons. To control this, they need to be thoroughly brushed several times every week to prevent tangling of their coat and also minimize the amount of hair around the house.
Their teeth should be brushed at least twice monthly and their nails should be trimmed every other month. The back of their ears and gums should also be checked as often as possible to avoid any infectious occurrences. Every three months, berners should be bathed thoroughly to maintain a neat appearance. If berners are groomed often at a young age, they become more accustomed to it as they grow and will cooperate fully.
Our Bernese Mountain Dog puppies for sale come from either USDA licensed commercial breeders or hobby breeders with no more than 5 breeding mothers. USDA licensed commercial breeders account for less than 20% of all breeders in the country.
The unregulated breeders who are selling outside of the USDA regulations and without a license are what we consider to be “Puppy Mills.” We are committed to offering Bernese Mountain Dog puppies who will grow up to become important members of your family. We only purchase puppies from the very best sources, and we stand behind every puppy we sell.
Calorie intake for Yorkie-Chon is dependent on its age, weight and activity level. It is recommended that puppies be fed at least 200 calories daily while for the adult dog, 150 calories. The older the Yorkie gets, the lower the number of calories it requires.
Most likely health problems common with this breed include but are not limited to eye problems, Legg-Calve-Perthes, dental problems, hypothyroidism, etc.
Yorkie-Chon comes in a variety of colors which include cream, blonde, golden, white, black, grey, dark brown and brown.
Yorkie-Chon is very intelligent but also stubborn at the same time, however, it can be trained out of its stubbornness. The Yorkie’s intelligence also enables this breed to be able to learn fast and respond quickly to training.
Yorkie-Chon can get along well with anybody as long as it is socialized at an early age; taking it to the dog’s park, for that visit to your friend’s apartment where a pet is also present goes a long way in helping Yorkie-Chon socialize.
This solely depends on its dominant trait from both parents. If it takes more after its Yorkie parent, then it can be left alone for a little while. However, if its most dominant trait is from its Bichon Frise parent, then it won’t do so well with being left alone for a long time.
Yorkie-Chon has a very high-pitched bark which makes it a good watchdog, while it can bark a lot; it can also be trained to know the right time to bark so it does not become a nuisance to everyone.
Yorkie-Chon is a fairly clean dog by nature and as a result, can do just fine with bathing once a month except in cases where it has skin issues that will require regular bathing.
On average, Yorkie-Chon can live for up to between 10 to 12 years.
At least one walk every day to get some fresh air would suffice for the Yorkie-Chon.
If you are a lover of Bichon Frise and Yorkshire Terrier, then you are definitely going to love the Yorkie-Chon.
